KLB German Masters 2010

On 19. - 22. August 2010 the KLB German Masters 2010 started at Dornum at the North Sea. An international field of riders met in order to compete in the disciplines Freestyle, Race, Hangtime and Buggyfreestyle.

Unfortunately I could only arrive on Friday evening so i missed the best wind of the event. Saturday morning we started withshould two runs in the Racecontest. In very gusty offshore wind I decided to take my 8.6m Prodigy, which sometimes was too small, but in some gusts it was almost too big. In the overall standings, I reached a good third Place. The organizer decided to start the hangtimecontest after the race. This was about to be as long as possible in the air. I took my 12,5m Montana V in still very gusty winds. I rechead the 3rd place with only a tenth of a second less than the second place and with 10m less of kite size ;-).

In the freestyle my fitness left me unfortunately and my cold was increasing. I wasn't able to compete in the doubles on Sunday and only reached a 5th place in the overall standings.
All in all I am satisfied with my results and I look forward to next year!

Ergebnisse : 2. Stop KLB-Tour 2010 in SPO

Am letzten Wochenende war es wieder soweit. Deutschlands Kitelandboarder trafen sich auf dem Golfplatz in Tating( St. Peter-Ording).

Marcel, Markus und ich fuhren schon am Mittwoch den 26.05.2010 richtung Norden um noch ein paar schöne Tage am Meer zu verbringen.

Leider hatten wir die ersten zwei Tage nicht genug Wind um das Wasser unsicher zu machen, daher durfte die 10.5er Prodigy im Buggyeinsatz zeigen was in ihr steckt.

Am Freitag Abend frischte der Wind auf 25-30 Knoten auf. Perfekte Bedingungen für den 8er Tubekite.

Leider hatten wir am Samstag nicht den erhofften Wind um optimale Bedingen für den Freestyle Contest zu haben. Daher starteten wir das Event mit 3 Rennläufen bei denen ich auf die neue Prodigy in 8,2m² setzte.

Mit etwas Pech konnte ich hier 2mal den 2.Platz und 1mal Platz 3 erreichen! Durch die Vergabe einiger kritschen und eher weniger ausdiskutierten Strafpunkten belegte ich nach zwei weiteren Läufen am Sonntag den 3. Platz.

Der Freestyle Contest wurde am Samstag trotz des schwächelnden Windes gestartet. Im 2. Heat besiegte ich den klaren Favouriten Emmanel Norman und zog Runde für Runde weiter bis ins Finale, welches ich auch für mich entscheiden konnte.

Alles in Allem war es ein sehr schöner Trip an die Nordseeküste und es hat wirklich Spaß gemacht den perfekten Rasen des Golfplatzes nutzen zu können.
